Shirley Serban is a middle-aged New Zealander in perimenopause, a writer, and comedy songwriter. She has a love of laughing with others at the joys of aging, housework, dealing with other people, and all the challenges life throws our way. In May 2021, Shirley created a parody song on YouTube, called Menopause Rhapsody, based on the Queen classic, which has since reached over 8 million views, garnered a lot of media attention, and made Shirley the unofficial face of menopause comedy.
