About the Authors

Mitch Markovitz is a professional illustrator and fine artist best known for his \u201cJust Around the Corner\u201d series of posters depicting the South Shore Line in northwest Indiana. He is also known for his series of paintings from the \u201cPostcards from My 10-Year Vacation\u201d series in New York City. Mitch was the first painter to exhibit fine art at the New York City Transit Museum. He resides in Knox, Indiana.

Mike Schafer is long-time rail photographer and the author of several books on North American railroads and motive power. He resides in Lee, Illinois.
