About the Author
Hayes was born in Indianapolis and raised in Alabama. He received degrees in English and History from the University of Alabama and Indiana University and attended Indiana University School of Law. He practiced law in a corporate setting in Indianapolis until 1997, when he left to devote his time to writing.
