Synopsis
The Boxcar Children are spending a weekend at Goldwin University for Grandfather's college reunion. They are immediately fascinated by the tall, mysterious clock tower that overshadows the campus. They soon learn that a valuable secret from the past lies hidden somewhere at the school -- and they think the clock tower might hold the key to discovering it. Then they see strange lights coming from the clock tower at night. Is the tower haunted by ghosts of the past? Or is someone else up there -- searching for the secret of Goldwin University?

About the Author
Gertrude Chandler Warner was born in 1890 in Putnam, Connecticut, where she taught school and wrote The Boxcar Children because she had often imagined how delightful it would be to live in a caboose or freight car. Encouraged by the book's success, she went on to write eighteen more stories about the Alden children.
