About the Author

Jack Challoner has enthused huge numbers of children about science, through exhibitions and demonstrations at London's Science Museum, school visits, contributions to encyclopedias and CD-Roms, and his own books. Maggie Hewson is a science graduate who has taught primary and secondary pupils for 23 years. She is now the science co-ordinator at Walthamstow Hall Junior School in Kent, England. The school is the distinguished recipient of the nationwide award for Science School of the Year.
