Synopsis

The cookbook offers an introduction that will allow any user, novice or experienced, to make the most of microcontrollers. The book covers all the aspects of problem-solving with a microcontroller. The Intel 8051 and PIC families, both of which are in common use, are thoroughly explained, as are the most prevalent interface devices and the necessary software. At the end of the book common problems are posed to show the software segments needed to solve them, thus allowing the student or engineer to look up the appropriate hardware or software solution. Mike James is Head of the School of Engineering Technology at Yeovil College, specialising in instrumentation and microprocessor applications.
