Summary of the book and the author
When James Aden applies for the position of Deputy Agent at Rumshott, one of the finest landed estates in England, he little realizes what he has let himself in for. Negotiating with royalty, tenant farmers, lost parrots, escaping sheep and the imperious Lady Leghorn all appear to be part of the job description. In order to survive, James must come to terms with his role quickly, and not let himself be distracted by Sophie, the pre-college assistant.
About the author - After studying estate management at the Royal Agricultural College, Rory Clark went on to work as a land agent at Badminton in Gloucestershire and Althorp in Northamptonshire. The inspiration for 'You've Done What, My Lord?' comes from the wide variety of eccentrics he has met through his work for the landed gentry.
An hilarous account of rural life on an English country estate.
