Synopsis
Competence-Based Standards and National Vocational qualifications are increasingly being tested and introduced in all employment sectors in the UK today. By 1992 it is planned (by the Government) that the NVQ framework will cover all sectors of employment. Backed-up throughout by case studies offering experiences and insights from major companies which are introducing NVQs, this study describes recent developments, benefits and challenges presented to companies as a result of the implementation of NVQs. The second section of the text gives a step-by-step practical guide to the introduction and implementation of NVQs, and the third section gives training practitioners checklists and charts for easy reference.
