Synopsis

This unit builds on Unit GTA1 and introduces more of the basic ideas of group theory. A subgroup of a group is defined. In particular, subgroups of symmetry groups are identified by modifying geometric figures. Cyclic groups, isomorphic groups and groups and subgroups based on modular arithmetic are also investigated.
