In this unit the question 'What do we mean by the area between a graph and the x-axis?' is considered. The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus is used to evaluate integrals explicitly. Some inequalities for integrals, such as the Triangle Inequality, are established and used to prove Wallis' Formula and the Integral Test.
One subsection is intended to be studied in conjunction with an audio, available in the Analysis B Block Pack (order code M208/MMPAB). The video programme, Heads and tails, associated with this unit is available on DVD00126 (order code M208/DVD02).
