Synopsis
This unit looks at some different systems of numbers, and the rules for combining numbers in these systems. The set of complex numbers is introduced. This system of numbers enables us to solve all polynomial equations. This unit further looks at some properties of the integers, and introduces modular arithmetic, and the concept of an equivalence relation between elements of a set.
