About the Author
Mary Homer taught at Cambridge before becoming a Fellow of the Du Bois Institute, Harvard University. She is a cultural historian whose publications include: Writing by Numbers: Trollope s Serial Fiction (CUP, 1987); Signs of Cleopatra: History, Politics, Representation (Routledge, 1993).
