Synopsis
Andy Ramos, a freestyle skate-boarding trumpeter, has dreams as big as a baseball moon. Born into a family of musicians, Andy wants to take his unique fusion of Latin jazz, rock, and hip-hop straight to the top. But when he crosses paths with Glory Martinez, a softball pitcher who has Olympian dreams of her own, the mysterious fusion of their athletic and musical skills changes everything. Ritters fresh story features two teenagers, a talented musician and a softball player, and adds a dose of magical fantasy and a chaste love story. Dan Woren creates distinct voices for Andy, who crafts his own musical styles, and Glory, who strives to be a great pitcher. The supporting characters are well done, as well. The story is set in Ocean Beach, California, an amalgamation of ethnic and cultural types, and each is given appropriate accents. From a mentoring grandfather to a streetwise mystic, Woren delivers believable characters and brings alive this unique story of relationships and music.
