Indeed, it was his basic need to laugh - even if the only people around him were suffering from cancer, and the room he was playing to was the other patients at the clinic during chemo sessions - that carried him through his ordeal. About the Author
Voted the Best Male Stand-Up at the American Comedy Awards in 1999, and named one of Comedy Central's 100 Greatest Comics, Robert Schimmel has had Showtime and HBO specials, bestselling CDs of his routines, a Fox TV pilot, consistently sold-out club dates, and is a regular on US TV show Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He mostly lives on the road, but also calls Los Angeles home.
