Philip had just moved to the island of Uthoern with his parents and his pony, Hobgoblin. Charly couldn't understand why he was unhappy to be in such a beautiful place. His Icelandic pony seemed out of sorts too. He stood for hours just staring out to sea. Slowly, Charly and Philip became friends. But one day when they ride out together, Hobgoblin breaks loose and swims out to sea with Philip. Charly manages to rescue them by the skin of her teeth with the help of her white horse Star. But what exactly is wrong with Hobgoblin? The children learn that ponies get homesick too.
