Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 System Administration Online Training Kit is a great resource to use in order to pass the Administering Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 exam (70-028) as you work toward a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification. Because it's primarily a CD-ROM presentation, this product is particularly great for those candidates who want to study while travelling, commuting, or in another situation that doesn't lend itself to carrying a big book.
The CD-ROM doesn't put much stock in multimedia gewgaws, employing instead a logical structure that helps you identify and correct deficiencies in your SQL Server knowledge. For each section of the presentation--"Creating a Database" is one example--you're given a brief introduction to the topic and an assessment quiz. Based on your performance on that pre-test, the software highlights specific modules you should focus on (say, "Using Transact-SQL to Create a Database" or "Setting Database Options"). The training modules themselves are very concise, and rely on static conceptual drawings to help drive facts home.
Because you log in to the software, you can keep track of your progress over time. One small beef: in some situations, you have to use the mouse to click a "forward" button after each page of the presentation. Other segments allow you to hit Enter or the space bar instead. The inconsistency could easily be fixed.
