Inscribed by the author on inside front cover, "for Stephen Jay Gould, in appreciation from Derek Freeman" (at the end of this printed lecture, Freeman refers to the final sentence in Dr. Gould's book "Wonderful Life"). Top corner of cover has a pencilled "F5," which was Dr. Gould's reprint-collection call number for this booklet. Laid in loosely at front is a postcard picturing Peter Maralwanga's "Three spirits of the rock country," on the verso of which Derek Freeman placed a small post-it note on which he wrote (presumably to Dr. Gould), "Greetings from down-under."
