Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. This stunning volume discusses the history, production and characteristics of Qingbai ware, or Yingqing ware as it is also known. 130 pieces are illustrated with full colour photographs, with descriptions explaining the significance of the construction and decoration, with reference to context and other noted comparable pieces. Scholarly introductory essays provide an overview of Qingbai ware, and at the end of the volume these are supplemented by shorter pieces for further reading focusing on particular issues such as terminology, dating and the export market. The introductory essays and supplementary material are dual text in both English and Chinese, the catalogue entries are in English with a short Chinese descriptive heading. The book is in Very Good condition, complete with slipcase also in Very Good condition. The slip case and binding is blue cloth-covered board, with silver gilt lettering. The slip case has some minor shelf-wear, the book has some very light, almost imperceptible marking to the back cover, likely from handling whilst removing from the slip case. The interior is clean and bright, securely bound with no markings. The pastedown is an attractive paper with a 'hidden figures' design. Rarely available in this condition at this price!
