Synopsis

This third edition is presented in a larger format for greater clarity and ease of use and contains a considerably expanded explanatory text and new illustrations. It features new sections on general management, including physiotherapy, surgical aspects, rehabilitation aids and the principles of drug use. Information is expanded on the pathogenesis, clinical presentation, radiological changes and forms of treatment of rheumatic disorders. There are new classifications in the juvenile arthritis section and updated information on the histology of connective tissues and the recently described problem of Lyme arthritis.
