John Morgan wrote the Modern Manners column in ‘The Times’ from 1997 until his death in 2000. He was senior editorial contributor at Condé Nast and Style Editor at ‘GQ’. Morgan was one of Britain’s best-known writers on style and the leading authority on contemporary manners and etiquette. He was the author of Debrett’s ‘New Guide to Ettiquette and Modern Manners’ and a frequent broadcaster on matters of taste, correct form and dress.
