Dickson, General Benjamin Shore is headed for the unexplored universe - under forged orders and in defiance of Presidential commands. Originally published in 1965, this SF novel has been revised for the paperback edition in 1975, and later reprinted. The author wrote the acclaimed Dorsai Sequence.
