As cities become ever more densely developed, so remaining green spaces grow ever more important for the wellbeing of the cities' inhabitants. This book focuses on a run-down site, the Land of Hoboken, in central Rotterdam. The site is analyzed and its history described in the context of the nature of Dutch landscape design and planning and five different design schemes, prepared at an international design seminar, following the same design brief, are proposed. The schemes are then analyzed and compared.
