About the Author

John Leather is a highly respected expert on classic boats. Descended from Lancashire and Essex maritime families, he is a naval architect and has been involved in the design, construction and surveying of a wide variety of ships, yachts and boats. He has designed numerous gaff-rigged craft for his own use, is the author of 13 books and writes regularly for nautical magazines.
