High firing can achieve finishes that appeal to many potters. Yet, firing clay at temperatures of about 1300 degrees centigrade imposes demands on the clay, glazes and kilns used that are not a problem with lower firings. Richard Dewar is a well-known British potter who currently lives in France. He is a fellow of the Craft Potters Association, and a popular lecturer and demonstrator. He exhibits his work internationally and his pottery appears in private and public collections around the world.
