In addition there are introductory chapters on the history of the exploration and cultivation of the genus, on cultivation, on the evolutionary history of primula, and its special features.

About the Author
Dr John Richards is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Science, University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He is a Committee Member of the Alpine Garden Society, and a past Vice-President of the Botanical Society of the British Isles. He is the author of Plant Breeding Systems (1986).
