About the Author

Bruce Oliver has studied Southern Electric trains and the Southern system since his earliest years and has been taking photographs since his school days, throughout Great Britain. Bruce has now produced a portfolio running to about 14,000 transparencies. For the past 15 years, he has been frantically busy taking pictures all over the North of England, an area far from his home, which is based on the South Coast. Bruce s interests are nowadays increasingly focused on railway architecture and infrastructure. Bruce has a professional approach regarding balance, trying always to ensure photographs satisfy the artistic discipline that is the golden ratio
