Does what it says on the cover!! Wilhelm is the son of Richard Wilhelm who made only the second translation from the original "Book of changes" in 1923. This book originates from his sons lectures in 1943. Lectures (in chapter form) on; Origins, The two fundamental principles, the trigrams and the hexagrams, the hexagrams Ch'ien and K'un, the tenn wings, the later history of the book of changes, the oracle book. This book is very unbiased, (that is not faith based) in its approach, and allows modern thinking to have its place in the understanding of the I Ching. It describes the I Ching well and approaches the hexagrams from a technical point of view as well as placing them in the context of their history. Good, illuminating read. Softback, intact and clean with some light related colour fade of the front and rear cover, and slightly browned pages. Not significant.
