Goodwin, who is an editor at Ladies Home Journal, went to Soviet held Afghanistan in 1985 and travelled for 3 months with Afghani freedom fighters. She was there to TELL the story of fear, grief and despair - experienced by the guerillas (and their families). These emotions are NOT unique, according to Goodwin, to any one side of the ocean. 330 pages with b/w photos. Two page map after table of contents. Cond: Paper wrapper is black with red lettering.
