Soft cover. Condition: Very Good ++. B/W Photographs (illustrator). First Thus. Goodwin, who is an editor at Ladies Home Journal, went to Soviet held Afghanistan in 1985 and travelled for 3 months with Afghani freedom fighters. She was there to TELL the story of fear, grief and despair - experienced by the guerillas (and their families). These emotions are NOT unique, according to Goodwin, to any one side of the ocean. 330 pages with b/w photos. Two page map after table of contents. Cond: Paper wrapper is black with red lettering. Front cover graphic is a portrait of the author in fatigues in the Afghan desert, photo of guerilla on back. No tears, creases, names, bumps, twists, scratches nor marks. Colours bright.
