Learning aids include: beginning of chapter outlines and chapter introductions; "further consideration" boxes; inserts that explore a topic in greater detail; "apply your knowledge" questions; and "investigating the environment" boxes, which highlight related environmental issues with the "apply your knowledge" questions. Environmental examples and applications are also included.
