Dr. Mayfield is a career naval officer who served 27 years on active duty, achieving the rank of submarine commander. He now works as Plant Manager for a private energy company near Charlottesville, Virginia. The team Dr. Mayfield leads has received numerous awards including 19 Best Practice Awards and the “Decade of Excellence” award from the Combined Cycle Journal, and was named one of the “model gas-fired plants in the world” by Power Magazine.
