Synopsis

The separation of church and state may be ingrained in US law, but in the hearts of many Americans, there is no distinction. For millions of Christians, belief guides their daily lives at least as much as does the law.

The 2016 election was the most contentious in recent memory. In such a polarized political environment, it makes sense that Americans should reexamine the fundamentals of their belief system to find the wisdom and courage to relate well to the present situation and craft a future that will enhance character development for the next generation.

Each chapter provides fundamental ideas, questions, and arguments to help the reader understand the importance of living a God-centered life and following true Christian principles in our political decisions and in our civil discourse—especially for our political leaders.

In God and President Trump plus the Rest of Us,Patric Rutherford argues that embracing the word of God can help our wounded nation heal. Ours is a God of love. He cares not for filibusters or political points; rather, he wants all his children to live peaceful, productive lives.

Great leaders don’t lead only those who support them; they lead everyone. Christ was the ultimate leader of men, and his example should be followed. This is an important lesson not just for President Trump—whose behavior does not always reflect Christian values—but for all citizens.
