About the Author

I am a wife and mother, but I also have been a student, teacher, traveler and an avid reader. My husband and I live in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Our children Brent and Traci are grown and on their own now, so we are enjoying our empty nest—except for our dog, Sascha, who became the focal point for my series Life of Fancy, about a young dog facing problems and adventures, just as children do. I believe that reading is the basis of our success! I was an English, Spanish and French teacher at the high school level, and I know that successful students have learned to read. I hope my books for young readers will create an interest for them and that they will want to become better readers. Reading opens the world! The photographs, with a few exceptions, were taken at our home, or the home of my parents. I can’t draw, so the pictures are my way of telling the story!
