Synopsis
In The Beginning! is an engaging paper-cut children’s book that tells the story of Creation. Created in Notan style involving the arrangement of black and white images, this book will engage and stimulate the minds of children. The contrasting black and white scenes of creation capture a baby’s attention and encourage healthy and mental stimulation that babies thrive on. In The Beginning! also grows with the child through each stage of development, revealing hidden visual surprises as the child journeys through the account of creation. The text compliments the images by using keywords which helps the child learn the major themes of the creation story and encourages them to make meaning and connection. About the Authors
Roman La'Voy Wood is an Illustrator and Visual Designer as well as an accomplished American soul folk singer/songwriter. Born and raised in Seattle, Roman cultivated his visual and musical talents living among Seattle, Nashville, and Los Angeles. Roman has worked with kids of all ages, bringing art and music to summer camps, schools, and community events both locally and abroad. Roman currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Alaina and daughter Noa.
