About the Author

With over fifteen years experience in the data security industry, Mike Winkler has faced, head on, some of the most significant problems affecting users today. He has held a CISSP certification since 2004. A natural teacher, Winkler has put his skills to work in the classroom, via video, and in his book, 10 Things that Used to be Good Ideas in Data Security. He is also the author of The Great Machine, Fallen Secrets, and co-author of Ruins of North Texas. He lives in Dallas with partner Megan and their daughter.
