Synopsis

Embrace the Sun
By: Marc B.Sorenson, Ed. D. and William B. Grant, Ph.D.

Are you dying in the Dark?

• If you avoid the sun, you may be ruining your health.

• Sun avoidance may be as dangerous to your health as cigarette smoking.

• In the early 1900s the sun was used to cure many ailments. Nurses would roll beds outside so patients could get a healthful dose of sunlight. Why did we stop?

You follow your doctor's recommendations, dutifully putting on sunscreen or staying out of the sun. You take recommended supplements, maybe even vitamin D, but is this truly the best for your health?

Authors Marc B. Sorenson and William B. Grant say, "No." Embrace the Sun presents information from over 1,200 research papers that show regular sun may prolong your life and remarkably reduce your likelihood of disease. What is this research? Why does my doctor not know it? Why has our culture had such an about-face regarding the sun? Is the sun really a demon?

Dr's Sorenson and Grant answer these questions and more in Embrace the Sun. An easy-to-read book that addresses topics such as:

• Women who are regularly in the sun have one-tenth the risk of breast cancer as women who avoid the sun.

• Safe, regular sun exposure can eliminate or reduce depression.

• With the advent of sunscreen and sun avoidance, melanoma incidence has skyrocketed, increasing by 3,000% since 1935.

• Women who are sun-seekers have half the risk of all-cause death when compared with sun-avoiders.

• Some benefits of the sun include vitamin D, nitric oxide, serotonin, endorphins and brain-derived neurotropic factor (BDNF). These chemicals are all vital for vibrant human health.

• Sun is associated with a remarkable reduction of many common diseases such as cancers, heart disease, erectile dysfunction, auto-immune diseases, the flu, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, and infertility.

• Sun increases the likelihood of a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

• Women who are sun seekers have only one-eleventh the risk of hip fracture as sun avoiders.

If you are someone who uses natural methods to live a longer, more vibrant life, then this book is for you. Open it up, take it in, and learn that a better relationship with the sun could change your life.
