Synopsis

After Rocky was born he discovered he was different from the other baby horses. He was different because he was an Appaloosa. The other horses teased Rocky because he was different and this made him sad. His mother told him that Appaloosa horses had a proud heritage and that someday he would do something special. When he grew up, Rocky heard about the rodeo and it sounded very exciting. More than anything, Rocky wanted to see a rodeo. This is the story of how Rocky did something special. This is the story of how Rocky got to be a rodeo pony. All proceeds from Rocky the Rodeo Pony are donated to the Tough Enough to Wear Pink fight against breast cancer and the Cowboy Crisis Fund.

About the Author

Mark Marchetti was born and raised near San Jose, California. He graduated from Los Altos High School and went on to earn degrees from De Anza College and California State University, San Jose. As a child he was primarily involved in sports and music activities. He became a music instructor at the age of fifteen and was a musician into his college years. Mark became a certified SCUBA diver when he was seventeen. He has been an instructor, a search and rescue diver, and has done work as a commercial diver. Diving has taken him to many exotic places in the world and he continues to dive on a regular basis. During his earlier years he also became interested in auto and motorcycle racing, participating in racing for a few years. After college he began a long career in law enforcement serving over twenty eight years with four different agencies. He continues to teach firearms training at the police academy. Hunting, fishing, and golf are also priorities in his life. Mark has four children, all grown to adulthood. He lives with his wife, Pamela, dividing their time between homes in Montara, California and Catalina Island. Rocky the Rodeo Pony is Mark's first children's book.
