These poems are possessed of a fine and grave music. At once shrewd and tender, Corkery has the uncommon ability to elucidate life's mysteries without diminishing them..Songs, prayers, narratives, meditations, letters, lyrics all speak to a world of incessant transformations and perishable identities, a world that is helplessly magical.
Christopher Jane Corkery was born in Spokane, Washington, but she spent much of her childhood in Europe and Mexico. Recipient of fellowships from The Ingram Merrill Foundation and The St. Botolph Club Foundation, as well as from Yaddo and The Macdowell Colony. The author lives near Boston.
