Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. It seems a small comfort to learn that this book chronicles an adventure in which the team became the first rafters to negotiate the upper Yangtze river - "without any fatalities". The front endpaper carries a large inscription, signed by Richard Bangs: "Laurie - I can't help it, but whenever I see you I say 'Zamazing!' and 'O-mo!' Good thing you don't book Niger! Love, Richard Bangs 12/89". I guess it made sense to Laurie! Illustrated with two sections of color photographs. Under the dust jacket there are signs of some damp staining to the spine ends, but a very good copy in very good, slightly rubbed and edgeworn dust jacket, with offset staining from the damp damage to the inside surface, and one short, creased tear to base of front panel.
