ABOUT THIS BOOK: The book is an attempt to "tell about this man Toscanini" by one who was him on good and bad days, who Worked with him, who discussed him with musicians, with friends, with enemies--and who loved him wholeheartedly. It is not at all a "technical" book about conducting. It is rather a biography of an effulgent personality and an analysis of a man who shed so intense a light that both experts and casual music-lovers were dazzled by it.(Publisher). Signed.
