About the Author

Neil L. Rudenstine, president of Harvard University from 1991 to 2001, is a graduate of Princeton, Oxford (as a Rhodes Scholar), and Harvard. A scholar of Renaissance literature, he is the co-author of In Pursuit of the Ph.D.
