From the Author

Start taking advantage of Windows 2000 today!!
As one of the co-authors of "Programming Windows NT 4.0 Unleashed", I frequently received email from readers looking for information about recent changes to Windows NT (now Windows 2000).
In this new edition, I kept many of the core topics, such as processes and threads, the file system, COM, and virtual memory, adding new information that applies to Windows 2000. But this book is more than just an update to the previous edition. There are a number of chapters on new topics, such as:

- Active Directory
- Asynchronous COM
- Cluster Server (MSCS)
- COM+
- Message Queues (MSMQ)
- Security
- Services

There are also dozens of example programs, with full source code on the CD. The CD also includes a number of great tools, such as BugTrapper from MuTek - easily the coolest debugging tool that I've ever used.

Thanks for considering my book. If you have any questions or coments, feel free to send me email at:
