About the Author

Will Baker lives in the rain shadow of California's North Coast Mountains - rattlesnake, blue clay and digger pine country - where he raises almonds and teaches at the local university (University of California, Davis). He is the author of Backward: An Essay on Indians, Time and Photography and Mountain Blood (winner of the 1985 Associated Writing Programs award for non-fiction), three novels and two collections of short stories (Hell, West And Crooked and What a Piece of Work). He is married and has three children.
