The MUG Shot Sentences provide students with opportunities to review basic writing and language skills. The sentences contain Mechanics, Usage, and Grammar errors for students to correct. There are 175 sentences in all—one for each day in the school year. The MUG Shot Paragraphs offer students an opportunity to read and correct a paragraph a week. By the end of the school year, students should have a solid grasp of how paragraphs are constructed and what it takes to make them correct in every way. The Daily Writing Practice section contains writing prompts, topics, and Show-Me sentences to help students practice their writing skills. Writing Prompts are provided on reproducible pages with stimulating graphics that encourage students to explore their thoughts and feelings. The Writing Topics section includes dozens of ideas for both expository and creative writing. And Show-Me Sentences can be used as starting points to help students show rather than tell.
