Grado le censure dello Scaligero, ritraeva nelle Satire come nell' Ode la piu cor tese parzialit� e guardato sempre nel bell'aspetto, e applaudito per sentimento dai molti e per consenso dai pi� godeva il favor dei Latinisti e degl'idioti, dei begli spiriti e dei pedanti, come avea go duto quello di Bruto e d'augusto. Ma in questi ultimi tempi la questione della preminenza frai due Satirici parve diven tarproblematica presso i Critici, come fa altra volta.
