Excerpt from Acts Passed at the First Session of the Fifth General Assembly of the State of Ohio, Vol. 5: Begun and Held at the Town of Chillicothe, December 1st, 1806, and in the fifth Year of the Said State; Also, the Constitution of the State of Ohio, Report of the Auditor and Treasurer, Etc
Sec. 3. Be it further enacted, That the state shall consist of four divisions, in the following manner, viz: The counties of Hamilton, Cler mont, Warren, Green, Montgomery, Miami, Cham paign and Butler, shall compose one division, and be called the first division; the counties of Adams, Scioto, Ross, Franklin and Highland.
