L'ancienne église de Croix, restaurée dans la première moitié du xve siècle, ravagée par les Gueux en 1566, fut vendue comme bien national et démolie en 1793. Reconstruitc tant bien que mal a l'époque du Concordat. Elle fut remplacée. En 1848, par une église gothique, oeuvre de M. Théodore l.epers, architecte à Roubaix. Plus tard on démolit le choeur pour faire place à un transept, mais la grande nef ainsi prolongée n'est plus actuelle ment eu proportion avec sa largeur.
