Dieser unterscheidet bei den Versuchen, das Wesen der Modi zu ergründen, im allgemeinen drei Richtungen. Von diesen gilt die eine, die logische Theorie, wie sie besonders von G. Hermann durchgeführt worden ist, als abgetan, und mit Recht, denn sie begeht den Fehler, in jedem Sprachlichen Satze den Ausdruck eines logischen Urteils zu sehen.
