Synopsis

Local teacher Sue Gunningham waits impatiently for news of her long-time partner Barry, who has been caught in the savage bushfires on a day that that would later be known as ‘Black Saturday’.

On top of this Sue has to fight a frequently overwhelming bureaucracy in order to identify and keep Barry’s remains, and preserve the memory of their love.

About the Author

Sue Gunningham has worked as a teacher, university lecturer and private education consultant. She currently develops and delivers financial literacy workshops to remote indigenous communities and disadvantaged groups. She has written and co-authored 13 teacher references and textbooks, and her fiction has appeared in two anthologies, 'Time To Write' (2014) and 'A Tapestry of Words' (2014). She lives in Victoria.
