Tongues is an Australian multilingual and multicultural magazine celebrating linguistic and cultural diversity. The magazine publishes writing in all languages and about all cultures, including travel, memoir, linguistics, language learning, arts reviews and interviews. The first print edition features writing in seven different languages: Bavarian, German, English, Polish, Spanish, French and Indonesian. Articles in languages other than English are published alongside their English translations. Issue 1 includes interviews with Professor Ghil'ad Zuckermann, Chair of Linguistics at the University of Adelaide, and with Mark Isaacs, author of 'The Undesirables: Inside Nauru'; a piece about being a young woman living in Morocco; a feature about the unique Bavarian language; a piece on the language situation in Montreal, Canada; and much, much more.
