Summer of 2008
Marigold ‘Goldie’ Hearts believed she lost everything when her mother didn’t wake up. But the loss happened much earlier. Now, she has returned to her family’s outback ranch, Hearts Farm, in the small town of Torrose, Western Australia.
The truth is, she’s no longer a child, and growing up means confronting the reality that love can hurt and loyalty can be broken. She is drawn into the pull of the McCoy brothers, Weston and Rhett, both connected to memories and a kind of love that comes at a cost.
